Cozy Cafés#2: Litteraturhuset, Oslo’s fancy literary headquarters

Welcome back to the Cozy Cafés series!

The goal here is to showcase some nice places

where a nerd may enjoy a good book & cuppa!

Litteraturhuset is one of my favorite places in Oslo to read and enjoy a cup of Norwegian coffee.

Litteraturhuset is a multi-purpose location: there you will find a café (selvfølgelig!), but also a bookstore, a restaurant, a venue for literary/political events, and even an apartment for visiting artists!

All photos mine.

A lot of their events are in English, so it’s definitely worth checking out as a tourist or newcomer!

This summer, I attended a poetry reading with American poet Ariana Reines and her Norwegian translator Anna Kleiva.

A couple of other cozy cafes in Oslo that I personally recommend, as a former resident:

- for winter: Oslos Mekaniske Verksted: leather sofas, board games, and a big fireplace!

- for summer: Åpent bakeri Damplassen: sit outside and enjoy the Scandinavian sun!

Kos dere!
